Welcome To Yoga Tribe

We are community based and most awarded studio in Orange County, offering an extensive yoga schedule with the most talented teachers in the area. We teach the Dayton Method Hot Yoga as well as Hot Power Flow classes. We encourage you to try as many classes as you can with our $20 for 20 Days Introductory Special.

The environment at Yoga Tribe is open, friendly and supportive. We value each student and do our best to create a community where everyone is encouraged to have their best personal yoga experience. To make that experience possible in a group setting, here are some suggestions to help guide you through your journey with us.

WHAT IS YOGA

Yoga literally means “union” and “balance”. It is a union of the body, mind, and soul. The body and mind work together as a team. An emotion is the body’s reaction to the mind. As we teach the mind to approach the body with kind, compassionate, and non-judgmental thoughts, the body will understand that energy as love and will respond favorably. As we heal the mind, the bodies’ health will naturally follow.

Yoga by its very nature is challenging. It is a non-competitive exercise. Sincere effort is it’s only requirement. You will learn how to work with yourself, not against. It is important to take it easy in the beginning and remember straining will not expedite your practice but will only impede it. If you cannot breathe normally, you are pushing too hard and need to back off. Remember, breathing is the main function of the practice.

HOW TO PREPARE

Food – it’s best to practice on an empty or nearly empty stomach. If it’s been many hours since your last meal, a light snack such as fruit, or energy bar is suggested.

Water – it’s important to be well hydrated before you come to class. Please drink water, coconut juice or electrolyte enhanced beverages in the hours leading up to class.

What To Wear – Loose or moisture-wicking tights or shorts (men and women) and athletic bra tops, tunics or tees (women) that won’t restrict your movements.

WHAT TO BRING INTO THE CLASS

  • open mind
  • yoga mat
  • towel
  • water bottle

If you don’t have a yoga mat or towel – no problem! Both are complimentary on your first visit. Thereafter, mats, towels and water are all available for $2 each. Also available for purchase are yoga mats and Yogi Toes yoga towels specifically designed for the yoga mat.

Men and women’s changing rooms have showers and personal cubbies with hooks for your personal belongings.

WHAT NOT TO BRING INTO THE CLASS

  • Shoes or socks
  • Cell phones or iPods
  • Heavy, jangly jewelry
  • Food, chewing gum or candy
  • Perfumes and tanning lotions
  • Small hand towels
  • Bags, keys or purses

Yoga is so much more than the poses we do. It is a process of understanding and respecting yourself and those around you

WHAT TO DO AFTER CLASS

HYDRATE! Please make sure to drink water, coconut water or electrolyte enhanced beverages. Take a warm bath in Epsom salts to prevent any muscle soreness. Please come back the next day!

BE GOOD TO YOURSELF

The path of yoga is truly self-acceptance. We all have different bodies and that is what makes each of us unique. Do not get caught up in what others are doing around you, just stick to your own body and do the best you can. It is not a contest between you and yourself or anyone else. Yoga will lead us to greater health and vitality the moment we stop competing and comparing ourselves with others.

Your first class will help you release stress and allows you to experience deep states of being such as peace, joy and love. As you learn to make your body your friend, you can miraculously transform your whole life. That is our hope for you!
