Dayton Method Yoga 200 Hour Teacher Training Program

Yoga Tribe’s 10-week Yoga Alliance affiliated Dayton Method Teacher Training Program is a fun yet transforming experience that will change your life. If you have a strong devotion to your personal yoga practice and seek to obtain a deeper understanding of yoga or a thirst to teach ~ then we would love to be a part of your journey. Teaching yoga gives you a strong sense of purpose because you’re in the position to transform lives and share your passion for yoga. The course will provide a FOUNDATION to prepare you how to teach through practical experience. Time is spent teaching you how to teach others. You will be learning to teach yoga on the very first day!

Led by Jason Wilkerson, certified Bikram Method hatha yoga instructor in 1996 and has taught over 10,000 hours of yoga. Jason is the owner and senior Dayton Method instructor at Yoga Tribe certified at the highest level as an E-RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance. Jason has graduated over 100 Dayton Method Hot Yoga instructors.  Jason completed 700 hours of teacher training including 500 hours of training with the Bikram Method in 1996 and 200 hours of Warrior Flow training in 2016.   Jason and training staff carefully observes every teacher trainer in posture clinics and will guide and prepare each individual into becoming a professional instructor. The strength of this program comes from the intense focus given to practice teaching as well as the variety of experienced and gifted yoga Dayton Method teachers who share their knowledge and gifts.

Assisted by Lindsey Hill, certified Dayton Method Hot Yoga instructor in 2008 and Yoga Tribe manager since 2008. Lindsey has taught over 2000 hours of yoga and has been a cornerstone to Yoga Tribe community. Lindsey has assisted multiply Dayton Method teacher trainings and offers a wealth of experience, care and insight.  

The Dayton Method Teacher Training Program includes a firm grasp of asana or poses of yoga including the following curriculum:

  • Dialogue including sanskrit, voice command and confidence
  • Alignment principles, modifications, contraindications, and adjustments
  • Anatomy of the human body as pertaining to yoga and it’s dynamics in form and structural alignment of the correct way to safely enter and exit poses
  • The business of teaching and how to market yourself
  • The History and Ancient Traditions will be learned, where yoga came from, as well as ancient lineages and teachers of various forms of yoga

The Dayton Method Teacher Training Program will impart the professional skills to teach yoga with passion, inspiration and confidence.

Tuition

Deposit: $500 deposit due by January 26, 2018 to secure Early Enrollment Discount ($400 savings). Enroll by January 26, 2018 to receive a $400 discount on your tuition, $3,200 after January 18. Space will be limited. Tuition fee includes unlimited yoga classes for the duration of the training, a course manual, and all instruction. Full tuition must be paid prior to start date of course. Cancellation Policy

No refunds or credits are available for cancellation within 14 days prior to start date of the course as well as if student voluntarily leaves or decides not to attend the Dayton Method Teacher Training Program.

2017 Schedule

Friday, March 2 – Saturday, may 12, 2018

ORIENTATION: Friday, March 2, 2018, 7pm-10pm

GRADUATION CEREMONY – Saturday, May 12, 4pm – 5pm

We will meet every Saturday, Sunday and Monday for 10 weeks. Teacher Training begins March 2, 2018 and ends on May 12, 2018.

•    Mondays: 7pm – 10pm
•    Saturdays and Sundays: 10am – 5pm

During our time together, you will participate in the following elements of training:

•    Posture Clinics: Techniques, Training and Practice
•    Lectures: Anatomy & Physiology, Yoga Philosophy and Ethics
•    Practicum: Teaching Methodology and Practice Teaching
•    Class Taking Requirements: A minimum of 35 Dayton Method Hot Yoga classes required during training.
•    Outside Classes Required: 3 outside classes required. These are classes from another studio and can be from another discipline of yoga.
•    Class Observation: 2 Dayton Method Hot Yoga class observations
•    Karma Yoga: Participation in a local outreach program Wednesday, April 11th 7:00pm – 10:00pm
•    Self Study: Journaling, reading and written assignments

Saturday and Sunday Required Class: 10am – 11am Dayton Method Hot Yoga classes (this class is included in the total number of class taking requirements)

Test Out – Practical:  Saturday, May 12th 12pm

A more comprehensive schedule will be given on the night of orientation.
