Teacher of the Month December 2017: Andrea Weeks

Childhood aspiration:  Rock star…right…party people.
Who is your most influential teacher and why: Lately my studies have asked me to look at the not so obvious teachers but the people who have come into my life and made me uncomfortable challenging my grit to remain authentic.  I have had a number of these people in my life and I can now have gratitude for them and what they taught me.  I know nobody comes into your life by accident they all come to teach you something.
How long have you been teaching yoga:  Crazy but it will be 8 years next month and I am beyond grateful to Jason and his Mom for Yoga Tribe and you the community!  Yoga Tribe not only changed my life but showed me my purpose my passion and there are not words to truly express what is felt in my heart.
Book you are currently reading: Yoga for a World Out of Balance: Teachings on Ethics and Social Action by Michael Stone.  I can’t recommend this book highly enough so insightful.
Secret Comfort Foods: Avocados in and on everything and anything.
An Unfinished Dream: Yoga because it is a dream that will never be finished, it is a beautiful endless path of learning, growing and changing and I love that there is not an ending to worry about.
What is your favorite expression: “Right” and I am trying to curtail my use of it but it then tends to be said more often “Right?!”
Most passionate subject: Well of course yoga, but I could talk endlessly about my two Greyhounds Kaye and Krishna and my cat Cammie because they teach me unconditional love every day.  I want you to know I didn’t name any of them I adopted them as adults, but I am considering changing my name to Kaundy.
