When was the defining moment when you realized you wanted to teach yoga: The moment I realized it has a military like discipline. People who practice consistently have an uncommon temerity that I want to be part of.

What is your teaching philosophy: I recognize that my class is known as pretty physically challenging. This truly is a double edged sword as the challenge can be off putting to some. This is NOT my intention. Life by nature is a serious challenge. Our nature to a degree is to give up, to surrender. Some things need to be surrendered to and others one needs to lock horns with. This should be based upon thoughtful logic. A challenging yoga class IS the training ground that hones the students capacity to stay calm and focused in a storm. Discipline equals Freedom. Tapas is the name of the game.

How long have you been teaching yoga: Since November of 2011

Favorite Pose and Why: Cresent Lunge. Full body engagement

Most Challenging Part of Your Yoga Practice: Getting to class. The dirty little secret with teaching is we teach because we love the practice, but creates a situation where its harder to maintain your own practice. A home practice is great. I just like to practice with a community.
