WHEN DID YOU START YOGA AND WHERE? I have been practicing yoga since 2010. I started out in a small studio called Greenleaf Yoga in Whittier, CA, where I was born and raised. It was a non heated studio, and at the time a level 2 vinyasa flow was my addiction. Prior to moving to HB with my husband, I practiced everyday after work, 5 days a week. WHEN DID YOU START YOGA AND WHERE? I started practicing yoga while I lived in Newport Beach. One of the first classes I ever took was with Erica. My first thought was…why is she wearing a jacket in a room at 106 degrees?!? I quickly became addicted to the hot room, thanks to Erica and her dynamic classes. WHEN DID YOU START YOGA AND WHERE? In high school, my mom would drag me to her classes in Huntington Beach, Seal Beach and Long Beach. I finally smartened up and started going regularly on my own after college in LA. HOW OFTEN DO YOU PRACTICE YOGA? As much as life lets me, 0-7 times a week. Consistently I would say 3-4 times a week. WHEN DID YOU START YOGA AND WHERE? Yoga Tribe is my original home. I started about 1 1/2 years ago. It is quite a funny story. I had just finished a gym workout and was very hungry so I had stopped at a Trader Joe’s. My wonderful friend, Karinna, calls me and asks “Whatchya doin’?!”. HOW OFTEN DO YOU PRACTICE YOGA? Over the years I have tried to practice 2-3 days per week and mostly on the weekends. However, since I started attending the hot sculpt class in August 2019, I have only missed yoga or sculpt for one week and 2 days when I was on vacation. WHY DO YOU PRACTICE YOGA? Because I love the way I feel and how well I sleep after yoga. I have always looked forward to attending hot yoga; however, since I started hot sculpt I anticipate it even more and I no longer use my long work day as an excuse not to attend class during the week. WHEN DID YOU START YOGA AND WHERE? Katie was at Yoga Works downtown for a couple of years about 7 years ago. She started at Yoga Tribe in April 2018. Matt started yoga for the first time at Yoga Tribe in December 2018 after Katie couldn’t stop talking about it and Matt instantly loved it. HOW OFTEN DO YOU PRACTICE YOGA? WHEN DID YOU START YOGA AND WHERE? I started hot yoga for the first time 4 months ago at Yoga Tribe. I attended 3 classes the first week and was hooked! HOW OFTEN DO YOU PRACTICE YOGA? I average 4 to 5 classes a week, alternating with hot yoga and the sculpt and core class. WHY DO YOU PRACTICE YOGA? I had surgery on a herniated disk in my back 4 years ago and was forced to change my exercise routine. WHEN DID YOU START YOGA AND WHERE? I have been practicing yoga on and off since college but I wasn't regular about it until the last four years. HOW OFTEN DO YOU PRACTICE YOGA? I average 4 or 5 sessions per week. WHY DO YOU PRACTICE YOGA? Hard to say. Probably for the same reason I eat. WHAT ARE THE PRIMARY BENEFITS YOU EXPERIENCE? WHEN DID YOU START YOGA AND WHERE? I started taking a few yoga classes after I graduated from college, but it really wasn’t until I found Yoga Tribe that I truly found a practice I could own. I remember my first class- Leslie was teaching and she put me in the back of the room by the door.
