Staff Member of the Month October 2019: Laurie Steininger

WHEN DID YOU START YOGA AND WHERE?  I’ve done Yoga on & off over the years but never joined and became part of a tribe.  So I feel I really started Yoga this past June at Yoga Tribe with the encouragement of my dear family & friend Carol De La Torre.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU PRACTICE YOGA?  I do Yoga at least twice a week at the studio & practice at home with my fiancé….his sciatica has been bothering him for months & he feels it helps with the pain.

WHY DO YOU PRACTICE YOGA?  I’ve always worked-out but Yoga is the whole experience….mind, body & spirit and I love it!!!

WHAT ARE THE PRIMARY BENEFITS YOU EXPERIENCE?  I feel stronger and firmer and love starting my day with such a positive experience & challenge.  I’m meeting new people and I feel like I’m a part of the Yoga Tribe family especially since I became part of the staff.  Everyone is so nice, kind and positive….just a good vibe all around.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST CHALLENGING POSTURE? WHY?  Tree, because my biggest struggle in Yoga is balance.  I have improved some over the past 4 months of doing Yoga but is still very much a work in progress.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE POSTURE?  Anything that doesn’t require balancing on one leg!! lol

HOW HAS YOUR HOT YOGA PRACTICE IMPACTED OR CHANGED YOUR LIFE?  It is a very positive and encouraging experience and I look forward to every class.  I feel like it helps me be more present, calmer, positive and a lighter person.
